Incorporating Iron?
Index by lwnash
My son is slightly anemic and going through an anti-meat phase. What are some tricky ways to incorporate more iron into his diet?

Our daughter was also a little bit anemic so we started to buy a little bit of grass-fed ground beef each week and mix it in with macaroni. She gobbles it down without a second thought.

This is going to sound really random, but cinnamon actually has a decent amount of iron. We put it on our daughter's french toast in the mornings. Also, make sure your toddler is getting a daily vitamin, our ped recommended the flinstone's kind...

Thanks for the suggestions! I also discovered that blackstrap molasses apparently has a lot of iron. I found an organic gingerbread mix that has 15% of the RDA for Iron. Wow!

We actually still feed our daughter baby oatmeal. It has 45% of her daily iron requirements. We mix it with some mashed fruit and milk and warm it for a complete meal.
