From time to time, you want to indulge in a wee bit o’ chocolate. But, boxed brownie mixes are so packed with preservatives. This recipe is definitely indulgent, baking up with a crisp top and super-chewy base just like the boxed brownies. But I guarantee you can pronounce every single ingredient on the list below.
1/4 c. pure butter
¼ c. oil
2 eggs
1 ½ c. evaporated cane juice or organic sugar
½ c. cocoa powder
1 c. flour
1 c. milk chocolate chips
In a large bowl, cream together butter, oil, egg and evaporated cane juice until light and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients and beat together just until mixed. Pour batter into an 8x8 pan. Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or just until the center of the brownies spring back to the touch.
